Drugs - Methamphetamine (MET / mAMP)

Methamphetamine, also known as desoxyephedrine and methylamphetamine, is a psychostimulant of phenethylamine and the amphetamine class of psychoactive drugs. Alike amphetamine, methamphetamine increase alertness, concentration, and may cause euphoria and increased libido.

Methamphetamine is a highly addictive and commonly abused drugs. It is classified as a Schedule II  drug by the FDA, and is a controlled substance in Europe, as well as Schedule I in Canada.

Generally Methamphetamine is ingested, but through recreational use can be via intravenous, insufflation, inhalation or as a suppository on top of ingestion.

Methamphetamine is soluble in water and can be administered via injection directly into the blood stream, alike heroin and cocaine. Smoking or inhaling methamphetamine generally involves a glassblown tube, synonymously referred to as “chasing the white dragon”. Insufflation, or snorting, is quite common, where the methamphetamine will take on the form of a fine powder similar to that of cocaine.
